Who are The Wonderful Organization, and why do they care???

The Wonderful Organization, a band acclaimed as part of "the new Austin thing" has been thrilling locals and touristas alike on the fabled 6th street now for well over a year.  In that time they have toured the Northwest, released a full length album, plus a single (soon to be a music video), and gathered the attention of the local press as well as the attention of the insatiable Austin promoter/mogul Donald Cates.  But please, enough about the business, what about the product.  The Wonderful Organization brings to the listener a soulfully supported style of rock that can both thrill with its intricacies and delight with its homegrown rowdiness.  From their dramatic introductions to their crowd pleasing finales, no Organization show has failed to deliver.  Why are they involved with the U.H.F. 5 case?
The ever watchful Eddie Mathis (singer/guitarist) read about the U.H.F. 5 on a local news blog and was greatly disturbed by the (dare I say it), the disturbance of the waters of liberty in such proximity to himself.  "I mean this is Austin for crying out loud!" exclaimed Eddie when asked about his sentiments.  At the band's next rehearsal, emotions were running hot.  The Big Toe (bass) had heard about the U.H.F. 5 but had failed to heed Eddie's impassioned cries for justice.  Dan Bui (lead mandolin) pronounced, "He [Eddie Mathis] must have busted out like 3 new protest style hippy dippy songs," which while being totally jammable were, "not lending themselves to my signature mandolin shredding style."  Aaron Parks (drums), ever the peacemaker found a way to incorporate these songs into the rock vein and Dan Bui and The Big Toe (bass) went right along.  However, it wasn't until Eddie's closest confidant, Michael Madeley (keyboards, violin), heard about the U.H.F. 5 that the idea for a benefit concert really materialized.  "Something must be done," Madeley swore.

Well now, something is being done.  The benefit concert for the U.H.F 5 Legal Defense Fund will be held on May 17th, 2008 at 12 midnight, at The Dirty Dog Bar.  All proceeds will go to the Legal Defense Fund.  Thank you and please tell your friends.
